TC82 - Not charging from solar panel
The Camera is mounted at the fornt of the housse which does noit receive any direct sunlight. Despire this, I assumed the solar panel would receive enough daylight to charge the battery but this is not the cas and the battery power is getting close to being spent.
Does the solar pane HAVE to be in direct sunlight ?

Hi,
Based on the provided screenshots, the solar panel is indeed charging the camera, but due to the lack of direct sunlight, its charging efficiency is low. The camera consumes more power than it charges, resulting in a decreasing battery level. It is recommended to adjust the solar panel's position to capture sufficient sunlight to better meet the camera's charging needs.

Hi,
In the absence of direct sunlight, Tapo solar panels can still charge cameras, but the charging efficiency will be significantly reduced. If the solar panel is kept in an environment without direct sunlight for an extended period, it may not be able to meet the camera's power needs.
On the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Battery Status page, please go to the Solar Charging Data page and enable this option. Then wait for a period of time (such as 1-2 days), scroll down the Battery Status page, and you can see the Solar Energy Output section, which helps check whether the solar panel powers the camera.

@Solla-topee thanks for the reply. I have had the solar charging enabled for a number of days.

Hi,
1. The message in the provided image means that the camera is not currently being charged. For example, if it's currently nighttime and there's no solar power available, you'll get this alert.
2. It's recommended to go to the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Battery Status page, scroll down the page, and send us the screenshots of the Battery Level, Battery Usage, Time of Use, Wake-up Times, and Solar Energy Output sections for analysis.
