Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.4.2

Was working flawlessly for a good year now but cannot for the life of me get the flaming camera to connect after it suddenly went offline. no warning. I'm sick of it as ive tried god knows how many times to get it working again & it's closely heading for the tip. When I first try setting it up it seems to be ok for maybe a minute, then bang, gone again. It's not funny having only the one not so good arm, trying to access it evertime to reboot the thing. Cannot even update the firmware as it says theres new firmware. what in the hell am I supposed to do to fix this heap of trash

Hi,
You can try the following steps and check whether the camera will work.

  1. Turn on the camera, wait for two minutes, and press and hold the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset. Then, check the LED status on the camera.

  2. If the LED is flashing red and green, enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, open the Tapo app on a different phone, try to configure the camera, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, and then check if you can set it up successfully.

  3. After you set up the camera, you can test if the camera is working fine. Then try updating the firmware via the Tapo app.

  4. After that, try factory resetting the camera again and connecting it to the home Wi-Fi, and check if it works fine.
