Model: Tapo C500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.5 Build 250428 Rel 41828n

I purchased the C500 almost exactly 1 year ago and it has been working well until a couple of days ago.

The LED at the front is a steady green and I can see that it has a WiFi connection to my access point (although no data has been transferred in the last day or so).

I have tried pressing the reset button (for at leat 5 seconds and generally more) but the LED just stays a solid green.

(As the device is powered, I had it installed by electricians and the connection to the mains is not accessible so turning it off and on again is not an option.)

It is connected to the same WiFI network as the rest of my devices, and in particular my iPhone and iPd that I use to access the camera.

What else can I try to get my camera working again?

@Solla-topee Thank you for your reply and suggestions.

Firstly, yes the camera did show as 'offline' in the app.

I actually worked out that, because the electricians had wired the power across the ceiling and down the wall to the back of a power socket, I could turn off the power to the camera by turning off the power to that part of the house.

After waiting a few minutes and then restoring the power, the camera rebooted and started working again correctly.

I still have no idea why it should have stopped working but at least it is working again now and all is well.

Thanks again.

Hi,
Does the Tapo C500 show as offline in the Tapo app? If so, please try removing the camera from the Tapo app, removing the SD card from the camera if there is one, pressing and holding the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to factory reset it, and then checking whether the camera's LED changes.

If the camera does not respond to your reset operation, you may unplug the power cord on the camera side, then plug it back in to reboot the camera, then factory reset it, and check if it has a flashing red and green light.

Best Regards

Hi,
It's hard to identify the reason why the camera stopped working from the provided information. You can now refer to the instructions below to collect the camera log and continue monitoring the camera's performance. If the same phenomenon persists, you can send us the camera log for analysis.
How to get the log of Tapo Camera
Best Regards
