I am facing an issue with my Tapo C210 camera where the alarm feature is not working when motion is detected. Earlier, the alarm used to trigger properly, but after not using it for some time, it no longer works even though detection is happening.

 

I can hear all sounds clearly in live view on the app, so the camera microphone is working. However, when I try to use the talk/call (two-way audio) feature, no sound is heard through the camera speaker, even though the volume is set to maximum.

 

I have already updated the firmware, rebooted the camera, and checked all relevant settings, but the issue still persists. Please let me know if this is a known issue or if there are any additional steps to fix it.

For the reported phenomenon, please confirm the following information.

 

  1. When the camera detects events, can you receive detection notification on your phone or Tapo app? Are there any detection video clips stored on the inserted SD card or on our cloud server? Please ensure the camera's detection feature is working first.

 

  2. Please send us the screenshots of the camera's Device Settings > Alarm page, Alarm Event Type page, and Alarm Schedule page.

 

  3. Do you mean when using the Talk/Call feature, the person in front of the camera can't hear sound when you talk to the camera in the Tapo app? 

 

  4. What's the model number and OS version of your phone? What's the Tapo app version?

1. Yes, I am receiving motion detection notifications correctly on the Tapo app, and detection is working as expected. Detection video clips are also being recorded, confirming that the detection feature is functioning properly.

 

2. I will share the requested screenshots of the Device Settings > Alarm, Alarm Event Type, and Alarm Schedule page.

 

3. Yes, that is correct. When using the Talk/Call feature, the person in front of the camera cannot hear any sound from the camera speaker, even though live view audio is working on the app.

 

4. Phone OS: Android 16

Tapo App Version: v3.15.112

 

 

Additionally, I have two Tapo C210 cameras added to the same Tapo app on the same phone. One camera is working perfectly without any issues, while the other camera is facing the alarm and talk feature problem, even though both cameras have identical settings.

 

Please let me know if any additional information is required.

Hi,
It seems the camera's speaker is malfunctioning. Please refer to the Tapo C210's UG to find its speaker, then check whether anything is covering it. You can also try a different phone to see if the Talk/Call feature works.

If the same phenomenon persists, please contact your retailer or the local support team to check if the camera is under warranty.
