After auto update to new version It said upgrade failed and the red led is permanently on,

I'm waiting half hour and then I unplugged the power and nothing happened I tried pressing reset and again nothing.

Hi,
Please ensure there is no power outage to the camera during firmware updates. If so, try the following steps and check if they help.


  1. Turn off your camera, and remove the SD card from it if there is one. Turn the camera back on with the original power adapter and cord.
  2. Wait for two minutes, press and hold the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset. Then, check the LED status on the camera. 
  3. If the LED is flashing red and green, you can try to reconfigure the camera in the Tapo app: How to set up the Tapo camera
  4. If the camera's LED does not change and the camera does not respond to the reset operation, you can contact your retailer or the local support team to check if the camera is under warranty.
