Model: Tapo D230S1
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: V1.2.0

Hello, can anyone help me? I'm using my Tapo D230S1 already for a year and since then I haven't change any settings and is working properly. battery not draining to fast and i was changing the battery probably just once a month. now for the past month its been draining so fast that i need to change it every 3-5 days! (i have two batteries).

I've check the battery status and its always on around midnight 12-1am and few other times in the day even if the wakeup times are only less than 10 per day. (see screenshots)

For workarounds I tried (had helped a little bit):

- I've already disabled all detection (set all to off)

- on the live view the settings is set only to Day Mode (from auto mode)

- working mode: balanced with auto power saving mode on

- wake up setting: doorbell pressed

- recording: 20 secs only on doorbell pressed

Thanks to anyone that can help!

The battery data indicates the doorbell is being used frequently—about 3 hours per day on average, with some days reaching up to 7 hours. This level of activity explains the rapid battery drain.

Have you shared your account or the doorbell with others? Or signed in Tapo app on more than one device? If someone watches the doorbell on another phone or tablet, that uses battery too.

Also, please check whether the doorbell is connected to any unofficial platforms, such as Home Assistant. We’ve received some feedback that Home Assistant might be causing the battery to drain faster.

You can try to put the doorbell into privacy mode before bed, then check the battery info in the morning to see if it still shows it was being used a lot overnight.
