I am having an issue with the camera becoming unavailable after it is set up outside.  It has connection when set up but shortly after, it becomes unavailable.  Thinking that the signal was insufficient from the router/modem, I added a Wi-Fi extender (TP_Link AC1900 /RE550) and used the 2.4GHz channel.  The extender is inside the house very close to the camera placement outside.  It was connected & operational.  I set it to privacy mode until I had more time to set options.  When I went back to it an hour later, it was displaying 'Offline' and was unavailable.

I will next try the 5GHz channel on the extender, but am not hopeful.

The only issue that I can think of being a possibility is .... cold weather.  Is this camera susceptible to freezing (the temp here is -7c)?

  @Milesp5

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported offline phenomenon.

  1. When the camera is working, please go to its Device Settings > Device Info page, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and check the RSSI value.
  2. What's the LED status on the camera when it's offline in the Tapo app? How do you recover the connection? By rebooting the camera?
  3. Please test if you put the camera inside your house, whether it works fine. You can test the connection for about one day.
  4. Please send me (@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message.

Best Regards
