Model: Tapo C425
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hello, I have new c425 and it seems to be bricked after five minutes from first power on.

I set it up with no problems, connected to wifi, went trough in app introduction, then it asked for an update a short time after update started it fell into something what I guess is a boot loop (couple of seconds of green light, then two red blinks, then orange for second or two and then green again and so on for ever).

I am pretty sure I did everything according to instructions, but now Iam stucked. I wanted to set it up from scratch but I am not even able to delete it from app. In app it actually displayed as online but with  note it can be controlled only locally

I did not found any combination of power or reset button to fix

Do I have any chance of fixing this?

  @mji22 just found out if I purposely change Wifi SSID the behavior changes and is only blinking red. So it is not fully dead at least

  @mji22

Hi,
For the reported phenomenon, please try the following steps.
  1. Remove the camera from the Tapo app.

  2. Refer to the Tapo C425's UG to find the reset button on the camera, then press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset.

  3. If the camera has a flashing red and green status LED, try to configure it in the Tapo app and check if it works fine.
