Firmware Version: 1.3.3

I purchased a c200 from Currys. Camera works well but as soon as I put the brand new Sandisk 512gb into the camera,  it wouldn't reformat it and although I tried numerous times, it wouldn't not reformat it. I put the card into my computer and it had been corrupted. I will take the camera back to Currys and see if they can get it to work with an SD card but I do not want to put another new one in as it might corrupt another and I am not buying numerous cards just for the camera to corrupt them. I know that there are lots of threads on here about the same thing happening. Firmware and app up to date. I have followed the guidelines but nothing works.

@Joanne_1967 The C200 only supports SD cards upto 128GB. You can find more information on compatability here: https://www.tapo.com/ph/faq/111/

@SKNerissa  the list of approved cards says you can use Sandisk 256g so why are you now telling me that I can't use a 256g but only a 128gb?   So the list the Tapo give online is wrong?

@Joanne_1967 As noted under microSD Card Buying Tips "The capacity varies by camera model and hardware version. For specific information about supported capacities, please refer to the specific product’s page on our official website."

@SKNerissa I referred to the special information on the website and it said 512 can be used.

What is the hardware version of your Tapo C200? Earlier hardware versions may have different supported microSD capacities. However, more recent versions typically support 512GB.

When you inserted the card into a computer, was it a Windows PC? If so, Windows may offer to repair the volume―was it able to?

The hardware version can be found in a few places:

1. The product packaging (typically near the bar code)

2. The label on the bottom of the camera

3. The Tapo app: Select the camera, tap Device Settings (gear icon at the top), then "Device Info" and look for "Hardware Version" under the Model.

As for the card and your PC, you originally mentioned that you inserted the card into your PC and received a notification that it was "corrupted". When prompted, using the Windows option to "diagnose and repair" on a storage device does not format it, so no worries there.
