Model: Tapo C410 KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I've had this camera since before December 2025, absolutely everything worked perfectly, the camera never went offline and also charged perfectly via the solar panel.

Since installing the latest firmware update, I cannot keep the camera online for longer than 2/3 hours and it never charges via the solar panel which has made this camera absolutely useless.

I know a large number of people are having the same issue and it's clearly because of bad firmware as that's the only thing that has changed.

I'm not looking for any debugging advice etc I'm looking for a simple answer, will you rectify this issue with a new firmware patch? If not please let me know so I can return this camera.

What are the hardware and firmware versions of your camera? Please share more specific details about the issue you’re encountering with your product. This will help us offer more precise guidance.

Each setup is unique. Differences in devices, settings, usage environments, and network configurations can all influence how a problem manifests. Even if symptoms appear similar, the underlying cause may be different, and small details can often be the key to identifying the right cause and solution.

Firmware: 1.3.3

Hardware: 2.0

This camera has been working perfectly for 2 months and since the latest firmware update, the camera will go offline and get completely removed from my Tapo app. This happens every few hours and has made the camera complely unusable.

Nothing has changed with my Wi-Fi setup and I have other cameras that rely on the same wifi that have not run into any issues.

The latest firmware update is the issue. Can the firmware be downgraded to solve this issue?

Firmware downgrade is not supported on Tapo devices. However, our support team is always here for help. For any unusual behavior with your device, they can help conduct deeper investigations and provide solutions. If you’d like, I can assist you in opening a support case for further follow‑up.

@Wayne-TP This is 100% a firmware issue. The camera worked flawlessly for 2 months and as soon as the firmware was updated it has become completely unusable.

Yes please open a support ticket but to be honest I'd prefer a refund for this as based on other threads in this forum, the issue has not been solved and Tapo are not taking responsibility for putting out buggy firmware.

Thanks,

Damien

I want to let you know that there are currently no known firmware issues reported for this specific model. Regarding your device, since I don’t have enough details yet, I can’t say what’s wrong or what to try next. What we’ll need to do is work together to look into it more closely. A support ticket will be opened for you later.

If you’d rather not proceed with troubleshooting and prefer a refund, that’s completely understandable—just reach out to the retailer you bought it from.
