Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version: 1.2.0

Hello

I have few Alexa echo devices and suddenly I can't use their Drop in feature while connected to Deco Mesh BE65 with three routers.

i have rebooted multiple times everything, disabled the Deco Parental control, disabled Fast routing and few other options but not luck.

it does work when I use Alexa drop in from my smartphone but not from Alexa echo devices themselves . I bought new echo show 8 few days ago and the rest Alexa shows are 1 year old.

did anyone else experienced the same issue and what is the fix?

thanks in advance!

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Did the Alexa Drop-in issue start recently?

"It does work when I use Alexa drop-in from my smartphone, but not from Alexa echo devices themselves ."

-Are you trying to say:

If you give Drop-in commands over the mobile Alexa App, the targeted Amazon Echo responds, but if you give voice commands directly to the nearest Alexa Echo, the targeted Echo device in the same Family Household group has no response at all.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

@David-TP yes, the issue started recently.

Correct- when I use my smart phone with Alexa app and I issue drop in command, it does work with all echo devices. However, when I try to drop in from any of Echo devices, it doesn't work (it seems it try toestablish collection for a one-two seconds and then drops. )

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

It is recommended to install the 1.3.0 firmware first:

Deco BE65/BE63/BE11000_V2_1.3.0 Added DoH & DoT, Speed Limit and Internet Backup

By the way, how many Alexa Echo devices do you have? Are they connected to the IoT network or the Main Network(2.4GHz band)?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Re:Issue with Alexa drop in

@David-TP Thanks - there are 6 Alexa echo devices ranging from echo show 15 and 8, three echo spots and one older echo dot. They are connected to main network which is Deco mesh (2.4 GHz +  5 GHz). They operate normally with other services like music streaming, podcast, watching YouTube etc. it's just this drop in feature which doesn't work. I read somewhere that Deco is potentially flagging it as malicious and thus blocking it.

I presume new firmware needs to be done manually for each Deco device (I have three of them)?

If installing new firmware doesn't solve the issue, what else can be tried? Is it easy to go roll back to previous firmware if new one cause potential issues ?

thanks again.
