Clothes on washing line constantly trigering detection on camera.
Hi, what is the best way to stop the TC82 camera from detecting clothes on the washing line as movement? I've had over 100 detections in the space of 2 hours.
Cheers.

Disable general motion detection and enable only specific object‑based types like person, vehicle, and pet detection. This should filter out most irrelevant activities. If the problem still exists, check this article for more suggestions. What should I do if my Tapo camera triggers false detection?

@Wayne-TP Thank you for the reply. I have already tried the stuff sugested in the link you provided.
The TC82 only has motion and person detection options, I have tried turning off motion detection while the washing is out on the line but I still get a lot of wake-up events even though motion detection turned off (between 400-900 per day in total although most are filtered by AI).
Also I still get some of the clothes being detected as a person.
Any further help is appreciated.

The camera will certainly be woken up frequently in your setup. While the AI filter helps limit full detections, it does not stop the camera from waking up when motion occurs.
To be honest, the current location of your camera isn't recommended. Persistent activity in its field of view will inevitably affect performance, not only lead to a high chance of false alerts, but also faster battery drain.
Therefore, for your situation, the most effective solution would be to reposition the camera to avoid pointing it toward areas with persistent movement. If you still experience a high rate of false detections even with minimal activity in view, please reach out to our support team for further investigation. Contact Technical Support

@Wayne-TP Unfortunately I am unable to reposition the camera as the rear garden it is covering is quite small so no matter where I position it it will be covering the whole area.
I also have another TC82 covering the front garden at the other side of my home which looks onto a path which is lined by trees and is a high traffic area used frequently by dog walkers and cyclists, this camera has considerably less detection events (under 100 per day) compared to the rear garden one even when compared to a day when I haven't hung the washing out. So far today the rear garden has had 10 times more wake ups than the front garden even though no one has been into the rear garden.
Is there anything else you can advise?

Honestly, I don’t have a better suggestion for your situation. Since activities do exist in the camera’s field of view, and it is the clothes, which are highly likely to be recognized as human figures and trigger person detection.
You could try swapping the positions of the two cameras to see if that makes any difference.
