Hi @David-TP 

 

I just purchased a deco S7 V1 (US VERSION) with the firmware:
1.4.1 Build 20230324 Rel. 50892


Then upgraded it to 1.5.2 Build 20240927 Rel. 68997 via the Deco app. However, right after all devices (3 phones 1 pc), the upload speeds dropped sharply, 60% on desktop and almost 90% on mobile phones. 

 

I have a symmetric internet bandwidth of 110mbps, but the phone gets a maximum of 20 upload and pc gets 50/60mbps. 

 

Before the upgrade everything was fantasic, and I was getting more than my allocated bandwidth speeds on the speed test results. So it's definitely the firmware. 

I saw others are making the same complain on the forums about the upgrade. You recommended someone to download the old firmware via a link but the old firmware is not there.

 

Can you please share the file so I can downgrade. I spent quite a lot of money buying this router and this is not working for me.

Based on the information provided, it is hard to say whether there is an issue with the Deco S7 firmware (v1.5.2). We recommend performing the following troubleshooting steps first and providing more detailed information for analysis.

Please provide the following information about the slow upload speed phenomenon.
  1. Whether you only have one Deco S7? 


  2. Please refer to the instructions below to test the Deco network speed and send us the test result.
      How to Test Your Deco Internet Speed 


  3. Are your phone and desktop connected to the Deco's 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi? Please refer to the instructions below to check the link speed on your phone and desktop.
      How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

  4. Then, please go to Speedtest.net to test the download and upload speed and send us the test results. If your phone and desktop were connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi before, please try connecting them to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi and test whether the download and upload speeds are better.

I was using a Archer C54 and yesterday i just purchased a single S7 to replace it. 

 

My desktop is connected with a Cat-7 cable and the deco is literally 5ft away from me, so whether I am connected to a 2.4 or 5ghz is completely inconsequential here.

I'm going to have you submit your logs so they can look into this for you. Please do another speed test 1st, as soon as the speed is done submit your logs using the instructions below.

 

How to submit Deco APP log

 

Once they have been submitted you should get an email with a TKID number please reply to this post with your TKID number than I can have this looked into for you

Hi, 
Please try disconnecting the Deco S7 from the front modem, then connect the same cable from the modem directly to your PC, and test the download and upload speeds on www.speedtest.net. Then, send us the test results. Thanks!

While you wait for @Solla-topee to get back to you I would try a complete reset of the S7 deco. This will require you to hold the reset button on the bottom of the deco for 1 to 2 seconds. 

 

You will need to set it up via the app again. Make sure the blue led is pulsing before you try to set it up in the app. Also make sure your modem is in bridge mode and that WiFi on the modem is disabled. If your not sure how set those options make sure to call your ISP they should be able to do it on their end.

 

During set up it will ask you to create an SSID and password you can use the same one you have always used,

Did not understand what you mean by modem is in bridge mode and wifi is off, is it for deco s7? My internet comes from a devics called ONU that has the fiber cable connected to it and from there it goes directly into my S7 with a cat 7 cable. The onu device is not a modem.
