D210 keeps going offline

Model: Tapo D210
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Over the last week or more now my tapo d210 keeps going offline and randomly comes back at times before going offline again.

I have reset and reinstalled my d210 numerous times and have also checked the WiFi and rebooted the whole thing. After resetting both it will come back briefly sometimes for seconds other times will be a few hours then offline again. I have run speed checks on the WiFi, signal strength and have have been in touch with our provider and the WiFi is strong with now issues. Don't understand how it can be working one minute and then not the next. I can't keep resetting, rebooting and restarting my d210.

Anyone else have/had this and have a solution.

Did you notice your doorbell's led status when it goes offline? To restart troubleshooting, we need to identify the type of disconnection your device experienced.

For Tapo D210, its LED indicator shows different connection states as follows, FYI:

  • Slow blinking red: Connecting to Wi-Fi.
  • Solid amber: Connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Solid white: Connected to the cloud.

Blinking red, even when I reset the camera it works for a few minutes then cuts back out and goes offline.

Doesn't make a difference how close I put the WiFi router or how many times I reset the WiFi or camera

@GazzerK mine is doing the exact same thing and started around the same time as yours. Rebooted, reset, uninstalled, reinstalled, had the WiFi on and off numerous times.

Rrsi raye is currently -81 but this fluctuates massively which is constantly cutting the camera in and out.

I have run network analyser and WiFi is currently running 2.4ghz -68 and 5ghz -30.

Currently using EE as my broadband supplier and using there "Smart hub SH32B.  Model F5394-P EE.

I have rebooted the router and doorbell several times now and it doesnt seem to make a difference. Everything else in the house running off the WiFi doesnt seem to be affected. As previously said this has happened over the last few weeks or so but has been fine for the past 4 months prior to this.

Update @19:04 rrsi is currently -50 this shows the fluctuations i am having, nothing has been changed or moved this is happening as its cuts in and out

The signal fluctuation you observed could very well explain the issue you’re experiencing. The significant variation from a very poor signal (-80dBm) to a good one (-50dBm) is not a healthy indicator for a stable connection.

For this type of Wi-Fi disconnection problem, you can refer to this troubleshooting article for guidance. Troubleshooting Guide: Tapo Camera, Doorbell, or Smart Device Going Offline
