Hi All,

My first post so go easy please.

I set up a schedule on the KASA app for a plug which was all fine.

However I have located the plug where I need it, but its out of range for WIFI. As my mobile phone cannot open the settings for it in the KASA app.

So my question is will the schedule still run as I set it up on the phone, when it was in range ?

Will the actually device remember what I have set, whilst out of range ?

TIA

DPUK

@DPUK

Good day.

The schedule and away mode settings are saved on the device itself, so it will take effect when there is no internet or the smartphone it out of range.

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link Not exactly.  If the device is out of wifi range for a long period the timer will drift, and I suspect the sunrise/sunset times will lose accuracy.  If the switch loses power or reboots for some reason it will NOT run the timers at all since it's unable to find the current time through NTP.

@MikeP

Good day!

I hate to say you are right and the possibility exists. And thank you for your additional information.

If the plug lost the internet connection for a long time, it would fail to sync the correct time and turn on/off at the wrong time.

Thanks!
