Model: HS220
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.09

I cannot add new devices to the kasa app because it says my network is unsecured which is not the case because my home network is wpa2.

I have tried the following to fix the issue

- resetting the devices

- resetting my router

- forgetting the network on my phone and resetting it

- deleting the app from my phone et reinstalling

- deleting the app cache and app data

Nothing works i still can't add any new devices to my network.

Hello   @Anonymous12335

An open Wi-Fi network without password , or sometimes a portal Wifi which prompts a window to manually put in password can be considered as an ' Unsecured' network by Kasa.

WPA2 Wi-Fi SSID with password is secured for the Kasa APP, sometimes IOS 14 above device thinks WPA2 as weak security The Weak Security and Privacy Warning on the iOS14 or iOS15 but that does not affect the kasa installation.

  • Please confirm your Wifi SSID has a Wifi password.
  • Then follow the instructions in the Kasa APP to add and set up your device, if there is any Error, please try some tips here
  • https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2229/

If this does not help, can you share a photo of error message here and we'd like to see what happened, thank you

  @Anonymous12335

I have the same issue.

My network uses MAC filters for security.

And I won't add a password. Making this product useless.
