Below are two suggestions that I think they will improve energy monitoring.

1. Billing periods

Currently for billing we have only two options Singular and Periodic. In the period option we can "split" by peak / not peak hour and by season.

However in my Country and other countries I know the Billing Cycle (and price) is not 'fixed".

Request

  1. Option to define custom Billing Circles / Period by setting the start / end date
  2. Option to set a different per KWh price for the different Billing Circles / Period

2. Consumption label

Currently in kitchen I have a single socket (and a single Tapo P110). Depending on the case, I may plug for some period the grill, the coffee maker or the water boiler.

Request

1. Option to "Label" each sub-period for each of the devices.

2. Show a consumption graph with the totals per label.

  @athafoud

The current bill settings can accommodate up to 12 different configurations (2 seasons/date periods *2 (weekdays & weekends) *3 time periods within a day). If your electricity billing rules are more complex, we recommend updating the bill settings regularly. Additionally, if there are cost differences in multiple time intervals (>3), you may consider averaging the values to simplify the setup.

We have received relatively few similar feature requests (you're the first one if I remember correctly), so we encourage you to provide a detailed description of your electricity billing rules (including your region).

By doing so, it will help us better understand your feature request, and if other users encounter the same situation, they can also gain insights and vote for this thread accordingly.

  @Wayne-TP Thank your reply.

My country is Cyprus and due to many reasons the billing periods are not fixed. They are around 61 days but they vary a lot from 50 to 70 days. Price per KWhr also depends on current fuel prices so it is not fixed.

I have some actual data from their measurements. I am not sharring the data for 2023, as I moved in a new area where the periods are slightly different.

3/8/2018 4/10/2018 62
4/10/2018 5/12/2018 62
5/12/2018 5/2/2019 62
5/2/2019 4/4/2019 58
4/4/2019 5/6/2019 62
5/6/2019 5/8/2019 61
5/8/2019 4/10/2019 60
4/10/2019 5/12/2019 62
5/12/2019 5/2/2020 62
5/2/2020 6/4/2020 61
6/4/2020 3/6/2020 58
3/6/2020 5/8/2020 63
5/8/2020 6/10/2020 62
6/10/2020 3/12/2020 58
3/12/2020 3/2/2021 62
3/2/2021 6/4/2021 62
6/4/2021 3/6/2021 58
3/6/2021 4/8/2021 62
4/8/2021 6/10/2021 63
6/10/2021 3/12/2021 58
3/12/2021 3/2/2022 62
3/2/2022 6/4/2022 62
6/4/2022 3/6/2022 58
3/6/2022 13/8/2022 71

You see that they are trying to meseaure at the "same" dates, but that hightly dependes on the operator availability.

For my "analysis", I am normalizing the above to 6 periods of 61 days. Also as said for each of the 24 periods there there is a different price per KWhr. If you exclude some case for outstanding increases, for the price I can use an average across a year.

So the "problem" here remains that I can not define 24 different periods (or 6 different normalized period) in the app.

Let me know if you need any more information.
