When I try to share my C200 I first entered the email which I used when I bought the device. It tells me, quite reasonably, that I can't share this.

So I tried my secondary email and there it told me the email wasn't registered. Of course it isn't, I want to register it now.

 

In the past I did add other phones which could be used. I even see a list of a couple of my phones which died.

I managed to remember that a SIM is required for some things and I would take the SIM from my telephone and temporarily use it in the camera.

I looked and there doesn't seem to be one inside the camera now.

On the other hand I did register my latest phone and I couldn't have done that if the SIM were not in the telephone.

I did it when I was within the range of the WIFI which the camera uses.

 

I don't want to pay a monthly fee for a SIM which I might possibly need once in a blue moon.

So my question is: 1) is this the reason I got the message that the email wasn't registered?

2) can I register another phone by bringing it within range of the WIFI?

(Do you happen to have explicit directions on how to do this?)

 

You do have a nice product and now I want to add a couple more telephones to access it.

Hi,
1. If you are prompted a message that your email address is not registered, it means you have not registered your email address on our cloud server.


2. You can refer to the instructions below to register a TP-Link account, and this process does not require a SIM card. Just ensure the email address you want to register can receive emails and the phone/computer you used has internet access.

3. If you have different TP-Link accounts and want to share your Tapo device with another TP-Link account, please log in to the Tapo app with the TP-Link account the camera is bound to, then refer to the instructions below to share it.
