Thanks for getting back to me, please find my answers:

Are you able to watch the playback video? Yes I can watch previously recorded videos just fine.

Please check the version of your Tapo app: in the Tapo app, go to Me page, click About, then you can find the app version at the bottom. 

On Androis it's 3.7.811.

On Iphone it's 3.7.803.

What's the model and Android/iOS version of your phone? Try to test it on another phone or a tablet, see if there is the same problem.

Android's phone is a Samsung galaxy A25, model SM-A256E/DSN, Android version 14

Iphone X with iOS 18.1.1.

The same problem happens on both devices.

Does this only occur when exiting the privacy mode? 

Well yes, I want too see the live view and I can't, at the moment the camera is in Privacy mode, I disable it but the vlive video wont' start.

Please note the other camera I  have, same model, works perfectly, so it looks like the issue is specific on that faulty camera... which also has a battery drain issue but I'll open a separate topic for that, unless the 2 issues are related.

Yes exactly.

It seems that a 'reboot' does the trick, but only lasts a few hours.

I also tried to reset the camera, but still the issue occurs after a few hours.
