Model : Archer C1200

Hardware Version : 2.0

Firmware Version : 2.0.2 Build 20180117 rel.70858 (US)

ISP :

Hi! I would greatly appreciate your help with the following two issues involving my Archer C1200.

I have entered the OpenDNS DNS addresses into the IPv6/Advanced/Advanced primary and secondary DNS fields, then saved the entries and rebooted the TP-Link router. IPv6 tests using different websites indicate that my network does not yet have an IPv6 address.

A second issue is that the TP-Link firmware will accept OpenDNS's non-filtering address (2620:0:CCC::2), but I receive an error message when entering the filtering addresses, which are ::ffff:d043:dede and ::ffff:d043:dcdc. The longer formats, 0000:0000:0000:0000:ffff:d043:dede and 0000:0000:0000:0000:ffff:d043:dcdc, also generate error messages.

Thank you for your time and assistance!

Bob

On further reflection, the above issues haven't been resolved. What is resolved is that OpenDNS is again filtering our content, which was my primary goal. The issue that caused the lapse in filtering was that our dynamic IP address had changed, but our OpenDNS account was still set to filter the previous IP address. By updating our account with the new IP address, OpenDNS is again filtering our internet content. I also installed their software that will automatically update the account in accord with future changes to the IP address.

Our connectivity is still only through IPv4, with IPv6 turned off. The above issues are still a mystery. Any help is appreciated, but this is not an urgent situation at present.

in order to use ipv6, first your ISP must provide ipv6 service for you. Then you can enable ipv6 in the router web ui.
