Deco M9 Plus slow speeds with strong internet connection
When I run a speed test in the Deco app, I'm seeing 280mbps which is in line with the service we get from Comcast.
However, when I run a speed test on any of the devices connected to the network via wifi, they all consistently come back at about 75mbps.
Does anybody know a way to fix this? We have Deco m9 downstairs and one upstairs in a roughly 1,300 square foot home. Any help would be super appreciated!

For us to be able to answer that we need to know a bit more information.
-What firmware is your deco currently on?
-What band is your device connected to when doing the speed test?
-How close to the Main Deco are you when testing?
-What mode are your Decos in?

I a very similar issue, just worse than what you get.
TP-Link app reorts 462 down, 24 up
Cabled, I get 450+ down and 23+ Mbps upload,
Wifi with device sitting about 10 inches away from the main router, about 13 Mbps from the relatively new HP notebook... Wifi signal shows full signal....
Rebooting the notebook typically gets it back to the 350+/18+ Mbps. I have not seen that kind of issue with my old router.

Same here. I really like th Deco M9 Plus and the coverage, but somehow the speeds have decreased dramatically all of a sudden.
I installed at first 1 Deco near the modem and tested throughput. The Deco speedtest showed 100+Mb down/ 10Mb up as provisioned y my cable provider. The speedtest.net came close to that on both ipad and phone.
Then I installed the other 2 Deco units and now I am getting 8-9Mb down/2Mb up consistently on speedtest.net.
What is going on?
I tried powering off both the other Decos and leaving just the main one in place, still the same result of 9Mb down/2Mb up. This seems to all have happened after I did the firmware upgrade.
Firmware 1.2.8 build 20190403 rel 43515

Hello,
I'm facing the same issue with performance speed while Deco M9 are connected with wifi. The coverage is not good at all as at less than 10meters distance and only a small wall in between, the wifi speed is slow 50mb/s.
My internet connection is a 10 GB/s connection and speed test from Deco M9 router is 837 Mbps for DL and 900Mbps for UL.
I have 3 M9 at 7-8 meters distance from each other.
Please fix this issue asap, it's not acceptableto us it like that.
Already tried, with single Deco, reset, reboot needed regularly.
I'm thinking to sell it if problem is not resolved soon.
Thanks for helping us.

By your registration you are in the UK so you may be better off creating a post on this subject on our Global Community community.tp-link.com/en that services al regions outside the US. Keep in mind there are several factors that can affect wireless speed other than distance and walls. factors such as the material of the walls, proximity of major appliances and other wireless networks can all affect the overall performace of a wireless product. Also the capabliites of your network adapters, remember a connection rate is only as good as the slowest point in that connection. If your adapter is old and outdated you might want to consider upgrading to a new adapter. The M9 only has 1 Gbps ports so the best speed you will see is 1Gbps wired and around 400 mbps on 5GHz

TP-Link support is region based. This is specifically for the purpose of customer statifaction and helping our customers. Products will sometime operate differently based on the region they are designed for. For instance in the US 2.4GHz only goes up to Channel 11, in the UK i believe its channel 13. If you used a UK version in the US on Channel 13 you may see performance issues. A US representive who is not trained on those specific differences may not catch that issue causing delays in providing the customer with a solution, thereby affecting customer statifaction. Also while i suggested posting your concern in the Global Community where you can get a more detailed answer, I did provide some general tips to look for.

900+ up/down out via Ethernet on Deco
Cannot exceed 300 Mbps using WiFi even the device is next to the Deco.
What is the issue?
