Hello everyone.

I'm currently using two kits of powerline adapters to try for a home network without cables. I have AV1000 in the living room and another AV1000 in Room 2 and AV600 in Room 1. With only Room 2 (AV1000) and the living room connected, I get around ~36mbps down 6mbps up. In the living room directly hardwired in or wifi in the bedrooms I am achieving around ~92mbps down 7-8mbps up. If I disconnect the AV1000 in room 2 and use an AV600 in room 1, I get ~60mbps down 6mbps up. If I connect both in, I get ~10mbps in room 1, ~100kbps in room 2. Is there something I'm missing? In the tpplc app it says 190+ and 210+ mbps but it's so slow in room 2 that I can't even properly test the connection on a PS4. The first room can do browsing just fine, didn't test beyond that. Second room sometimes has issues testing the rooms. Both purchased in the past two weeks. Is there a way to make this work with faster speeds?

The powerlines are connected to the switch in a wifi router (AC1350) which is connected to the modem.

Have you tried swapping the AV600 and the AV1000 (Room 2)? If so, what speeds do you get in that setup? The other AV1000 would remain wired to the router.

The speeds are roughly the same. It varies between 22-36mbps in various trials.

What will happen when using a slower powerline adapter is what the powerline network will drop to, in the case the AV600. So in other words your AV1000 in the other room would be opreating as if it was a AV600 as well.

 

You could try a different outlet as peformance differs because of the location/wiring/interference of each outlet. However, what would be best is to have all nodes be an AV1000 powerline adapter to avoid a drop in speed.

I'll try to buy an AV1000 to test it. I was thinking the Homeplug AV2 might have something to do with it but then why would a single AV1000 and AV600 allow the speed to be 60mbps? I've tried different ports. In the first room, most of the outlets (except the one where the light switch is attached) runs around the same speed +/- 10%. The other room is about the same except the one outlet that gets no connection. The breaker is in that bedroom if it makes a difference.

Looks like when using all AV1000, Room 2 has a connection of 11mbps and Room 1 has a connection of 27mbps. Not ideal but better.

I have 3 adapters all same model... and speed is ~5Mbit ... i tHink they are ripping off customers... this is unbelievable, adapter which they claim 1000Mbit ... and in real scenario 5Mbit, do they really expect that flat is using one phase across all rooms? What the heck is that? ripping of customers?
