HS220 Dimmer Blink/Flash Off when turning on to 100%/full power
HS220 Dimmer Blink/Flash Off when turning on to 100%/full power
When turning on the HS220 dimmer, it goes from dim to bright and then goes off for a fraction of a second and then back on to full. This happens with two fixtures, a chandelier with 5 dimmable LED bulbs and a dimmable integrated LED fixture. The LED integrated fixture replaced an old ceiling fan with three candelabra LED bulbs that worked fine and did not blink.
Also, to avoid the annoying blink, is it possible to set the dimmer so the "Instant" setting for single button press is actually instant? If I set Double Press to "Instant On" it turns on full without blinking but instant for the standard setting still does a very quick transition from dim to full and has the blink.

@Rvictor I saw in a different post regarding this issue that the HS220 dimming switch was only meant to work with incandescent/ halogen lights. You may try swapping the LED lights for some old school bulbs and see if that works. That's what I'm going to do. Every time I turn them on it makes the lights flicker once then they work fine after that. So I'll try old school bulbs to see if that fixes this issue.

@Jackall711 I have these all over my house, including other LEDs. I don't know that changing to halogen will solve our problem. I thought it was a loose neutral wire but haven't had time to fix it yet. I've been just leaving the light 1 below max. Typing this out is making me feel lazy so I'll go on and fix it after work. It's just annoyingly tight in this box.

The HS220 is compatible with LED lights based on TRIAC and forward-phase-control, while it doesn’t support lamps based on PWM(pulse width module) or ELV(electronic low voltage)dimming. What type of LEDs are yours?

I have the same issue. I'm using 4 GE relax HD LED light bulbs. Turning on at 90% is totally fine, but turning on at 100% results in full brightness, a momentary flicker off, then full brightness again. For what it's worth, I'm also seeing super faint flickering at lower brightness levels to I had to calibrate the minimum to be quite high.

Has anyone been able to find a resolution to this issue?

@Carl I can confirm I am experiencing this issue as well with TRIAC dimmable Phillips LED's on my HS220. I control mine through Home Assistant instead of the Kasa app. I can turn the brightness up to 99% but the second I put it to 100%, the bulbs quickly flash off, then back on and then it's good from there. I'm have 8 of the HS220's around my home and can confirm it does this with all of them. The fact I can set them all the way to 99% and have them work perfectly is a clear indicator this can be fixed with a firmware update. I do have one HS220 with different cheaper bulbs which don't dim half as low, but they do not flash once when set to 100%. I've also tried pressing the restart button on the switch but the problem still persists.

@MilesO I have the same issue. It works when I keep it at 99% and thankfully when it turns off manually ans back on it keeps the dimming. But hopefully there is a fix for this soon
