Archer C3150 Limiting Speed?
Hey Everyone,
I recently upgraded our internet service to 200 Mbps through Xfinity. If I use an ethernet connection to the modem or router, I get over 200 Mbps on my laptop. The tether app shows a speed of 234 Mbps download. So, I am certain everything is getting to the router correctly.
However, no matter what settings I tweak, I cannot get any individual device to have a download speed of greater than 85 Mbps. At any given time, we have about 30 devices connected wirelessly to the router (laptops, ipads, iphones, IP cameras, amazon echos, etc.). However, it doesn't appear as though any of them are using the bandwidth regularly. For example, at 5 AM this morning, I did a speed check on my laptop and got 85 Mbps. No one else in the house was up, so none of the other devices were being used in any meaningful way If I take the time to take everything off the network and connect only my laptop wirelessly, I get over 200 Mbps. So, I know it is possible.
It almost looks like the router is setting a cap on the speed of any connected device. There is no bandwidth control setting on the web app used with this router, so I can't tell for sure. Does anyone know if this router is limiting the speed in this way? Anything I can do about it?
Thanks!
