@goofy2  in network properties, unchecked Appex networks accelerator, and Microsoft network adapter multiplexor protocol. So far even after a restart, i have high download speeds!! Have no idea what these things do ,but so far so good!

@goofy2

We need more infromation.  Such as how far from the router the computer is.  If you have tried in different locations.  If you have tired changing the wireless channel on the router. Also we would need to know if there are any other wireless adapters or drivers install that could be creating conflicts.

@goofy2  I have uninstalled everything that was from old adapter, that i could find anyway. Adapter works fine untill i wake computer up or restart it. Then download speed drops to 1.2 mbps or less, upload is good at 5mbps. reinstall driver and download speed goes up to 50mbps, 5 for upload. where can i look for a conflict? What could be happening that would cause settings to change? Have tried all suggestions from net about  trouble shooting slow speeds with windows 10.

@goofy2

Make sure the USB adapter is not plugged into a USB slot labeled "SS".

Also, go into the adapter properties, and see if there is an option for "MIMO Power Save Mode". If so, turn that off.
