Model: Deco M9 Plus

Hardware Version: V1

Firmware Version:

I read in a review on arstechnica that the Deco system only supports welll the star topology network. Meaning that all nodes have to connect directly to the main node to get good speed, the system doesn't support well multi hop.

For example, the below network design diagram doesn't actually work.

main deco -> node 1 -> node 2 -> node 3

Is this true?

In router mode, the satellite units need to end up at the main node. In access point mode, you can have all the nodes connect to the main router and don't need to go through the main node.
