Internet connection warning and red LED with AX6000 Access Point Mode+DHCP
I have an AX6000 in Access Point mode with the DHCP server on.
In the web admin UI the LAN and DHCP server pages are configured for a simple private network behind a home cable router:
AX6000 static IP: 192.168.0.253
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Range 192.168.0.11-252
Default gateway: 192.168.0.1
Primary DNS server: 194.168.8.100 <- this is my ISP DNS server
Secondary DNS server: 8.8.4.4 <- a google DNS server
All wired and wireless clients connect correctly and can browse the internet with no problem, but the LED light on the top of the router has gone red, and there are warnings in the admin UI:
- The router admin status page has a ! symbol over the internet icon
- I cannot set the time from a network time server in the admin UI
- When I use the System Tools > Firmware Upgrade > Check for Upgrade button, the UI shows this message: "Unable to check for upgrade. Make sure you are connected to the internet and try again" (screenshot below)
Finally, (most important for me) the AX6000 DHCP/DNS server will only answer queries for local devices; any queries about external hosts will time out.
The only information in the AX6000 logs is "INFO" level information about services starting, no errors or warnings.
My ISP is Virgin Media in the UK. This same setup worked with no problem 1 week ago when my ISP was BT with their ADSL router.
I know that I can work around all of these problems, but how can I understand what is happening? Is there a way to turn on additional logging?
