Model: Archer A10
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: latest download

My new Archer A7 router doesn't recognized the wired connection from a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo.  This NAS device connected with my prior Netgear router.

All my other devices connected easily to the A7 including an wired HP PC, and wireless HP laptop, cell phones, tablet, 2 TVs.

You can check the IP address on the NAS, is it in the same IP subnet of the Archer A7? If it is using a static IP address, ensure it is 192.168.0.x (the default IP address of the A7 is 192.168.0.1), which can be within the DHCP address pool or outside it. If it is within the address pool, ensure that IP is not assigned to another device in the network.

The NAS has an IP address of 192.168.1.12. All the Archer A7 attached devices are in the 192.168.0.x subnet. This is likely the problem. How do I change the NAS address?

This is really a Netgear question, on how to change the IP address of the ReadyNAS.

Googling this I find there are a few versions. One KB article from NG is https://kb.netgear.com/29770/I-can-no-longer-access-my-ReadyNAS-OS-6-storage-system-after-moving-Local-Area-Network-LAN, and I'm sure there are others.

Might get better help asking in the NG Forums? The change has to be made in the ReadyNAS, unless you are willing to move all the other addresses you have to 192.168.1.x subnet by altering the IP Address of the router.

If can't change the IP address of the router (since I can't access it), how would I change the IP range on the A7 router?

Sorry, error in my prior reply. I meant to say I can't access the NAS device.

It is on your Router's GUI Advanced, Network, LAN page.

A picture is worth 1,000 words:

You will probably need to make the change and then you have 2 choices:

  1. Change the NAS back to match your old setup using 192.168.0.1 and then return the router to that IP Address.
  2. Change ALL other devices to use 192.168.1.1.

Ok, I'm back to this issue. Not clear as how to change or override the router IP address. If I can move it to temporarily 192.168.1.1, then perhaps I could connect to the NAS device and reconfigure it to 192.168.0.1 . I can't access the NAS now so I can't change anything.
