Model: Archer AX90
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20210312 rel.62806(4555)

I have a Lenovo Legion 7 Laptop with the following WiFi card - Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX1650x 160MHz Wireless Network Adapter (200NGW)

I recently bought an Archer AX90 AX6600 router and I've been trying the set it up but I have problems.

I am trying to set-up the 3rd band to 160Mhz channel width. As soon as I change the channel width to 160Mhz my laptop stop seeing 5GHz-2.

I was lucky ONCE and for reasons unknown to me while changing settings on 5GHz-2 I managed to see and connect to it and got the advertised 2.4Gbps link speed.

However as soon as I rebooted the router I stopped seeing 5GHz-2 again and no matter what I try it won't show up again if I set the channel width to 160Mhz.

I've searched high and low about what might be the issue but I have found nothing.

Notes:

1. It's not a compatibility issue - if I managed to see and connect to 5GHz-2 once and see 2.4Gbps in Control Panel

2. When the channel width is 160Mhz none of my devices see 5GHz-2. Only the laptop has the AX wifi card but all should see 5GHz-2 but won't be able to take full advanced of the speeds

3. I have the latest drivers installed but this is not relevant since it clearly isn't a compatibility issue.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think the issue is with the router itself or its firmware. I hope I'm wrong because I wouldn't want to send this router back

@vokut

Not sure but it may be radar in your area causing the issue as it will knock you off of 160MHz.

Go to this link as it explains the 160MHz and WIFI 6 better than most and what may be happening. Note it is a bit long.

Hi,

It turns out that it takes 10-15 minutes for the 160Mhz to show up after I reboot the router or make a change to the settings of the 5GHz-2 band. The 2.4 and 5.1 show up almost immediately but this one takes a long time to show up. No issues now that I know its quirks. This should be put with bold capital letters on the product page :)

Thanks again
