The fix was change the network profile from public to private!

 

Now it works

 

Down you can see the original post, so if you have the same problem, update the firmware and change the network profile. Seems like it will solve the problem

I use Deco M5 as a router AND mesh

The main module is connected to the internet and to the PC

I have LG 55'' smart tv.

 

Before the Deco installation I had router TP Link VR400 and I could share content from my PC on my LG TV

I stopped using the router and just use the DECO 5,

 

The problem is sharing through smartshare, 

The TV doesn't see any file and can't access the total data.

Before the Deco 5 installation. the sharing was great between tjhe pc and lg TV.

 

Does anybody here have any fixes for the problem?

I got help and it was fixed

The fix was change the network profile from public to private!

Hi, did you install the Smart Share - File Transfer program on the PC?

What is the error message when you failed to share the content from PC to LG tv?

By the way, did you install Deco M5 behind the VR400? and what is the operation mode on the M5, wireless router, or access point?

And both LG TV and PC are connected to Deco, right?

I have installed smart share and it worked fine when I used vr400. The LG had an option of Pc input.Good

 

I disconnected the vr400 because it only has 1 port of 1000 mega.

 

Now I use the deco as router.

Deco 1 connected to the internet and Pc. And deco 2 is connected wireless to deco 1 and wired to the tv.

 

There is no error. The tv doesn't have the PC input.

Hi, did you mean when choosing device connector, there is no option for PC, like:

Did the computer connect the main Deco via Ethernet cable or by Wi-Fi?

--if both PC and LG TV are connected to the same satellite Deco, would PC input show up?

Please also log into the web UI of the M5 and enable IGMP to have a look:

Hi

 

I changed the igmp and It didn't help.

 

1.Main Deco is connected to internet

2.PC is connected to the main Deco via Ethernet

3.Satellite Deco is connected to the main Deco via WiFi

 

4.TV is connected to satellite deco via Ethernet

5. SmartShare is open

6. IGMP is enabled

 

And still can't access media files in the PC

 

 

One image is whithout the router showing there is no access to Pc files 

 

The second one is when the router is connected.

Thank you very much for your update.

I might need to forward your case to the senior engineers for further assistance and please have a check of your email box later.

At the same time, I noticed that the LG support page mentioned Smart Share might also be related to UPNP under Deco APP>More>Advanced>UPNP.

If possible, please also enable the UPNP on the Deco APP to have a look.

Upnp is enabled

I also tried to connect the PC directly to deco and added a streamer and it didn't work
