Model: Archer A10
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.5 0.9.1 v1000.0 Build 200928 Rel.32191n(4A50)

I changed the 5GHz wireless channel multiple times, everytimes it turned back to 44 and collapse with neighbors' wireless network, and get the very bad ping to access point.

Any suggestion ?

Thank you in advance.

Which 5G channel were you trying to change to? Be sure that you are not using a DFS channel, when the DFS channel is selected, the router will monitor the frequency they are using for radar signals. If radar signals are detected on current channel, the devices will vacate that channel and switch to an alternate channel automatically. In addition, the channel which radars are detected will not be used for a period of time.

Brief introduction of DFS function

@Kevin_Z

Thank you for your reply.

I did make sure that the DFS was off.

I was checking what channel was vacant manually.

The most used is 44, so I moved to 64, and 1xx something. The channel is changed for a while. Then, it automatically moved back to 44, and collapse with others. I don't know if that is a firmware bug or not, but it looks like it's not working correctly.

64 is one of the DFS channels, please check the article I just linked to you. If radar signals are detected on the current channel, the router will vacate that channel and switch to an alternate channel automatically. In addition, the channel in which radars are detected will not be used for a period of time.

@Kevin_Z

Thank you, I will try to make it on and use 64 after I go back.

Anyway for this model, I cannot use U-NII-3, right ?

These Wi-Fi routers need to comply with that of CE regulation. So if there is no U-NII-3 channels available on the router web GUI, that means you cannot use it.

@Kevin_Z

I tried channel 108. So far I didn't get the problem with the channel auto move to 42/44. But before that (yesterday) I tried 56, 64. It returned back to 42/44 immediately after the signal showed up which a lil bit weird.
