Replacing Cable Modem in DECO S4 Mesh Network
I will be replacing my Motorola MG7550 cable modem with a Motorola MB8600 cable modem. My newly installed Deco S4 mesh network is working just fine but want to upgrade the cable modem. Once I get the new modem synced with my Internet provider (Xfinity/Comcast) is it just a matter of re-plugging the network cable to the main S4 router again & powering it up along with the two S4 satellites? Or do the Deco S4 routers need to be reconfigured for the new modem?

@Ozzboy what settings do you have for the MG7550 and S4? Cannot get my S4 to see the MG7550?
Soon after I installed the TP-Link Mesh wireless network I replaced my MG7550 for the Motorola MB8600 cable modem for the faster bandwidth capability and because I no longer needed a “duel" wireless/cable modem, just a faster cable modem. Plus the MB8600 was pretty much plug & play with the S4.
The MG7550 had to be put into the Bridge mode. I think that was one of the reasons I got the faster "cable only" modem when I switched from my Airport wireless network to the S4 wireless network. It was faster & I didn't have to mess with putting it in the bridge mode.
Google the link used for "putting the MG7550 modem into the bridge mode." The directions will be for a MG7700 modem but the steps worked also for the MG7550.
This might help you get the S4 to work with your MG7550. Good luck.

Hi, I think you don't need to set up Deco M4 again and It should be plug and play with the new modem.
