@Kevin_Z

I've been having a related problem with my AX21v2 since the 1/7 update.  The AX21 doesn't automatically reconnect after a scheduled reboot.  I have Frontier Communication fiber.  If I disconnect the internet cable and then immediately reconnect it, the internet reconnects after a few seconds.

I downloaded the beta firmware 2.15 Build 20211222 rel 15757(5553) early this morning and it seems to have solved the scheduled reboot internet disconnect problem.  I've tried several sheduled reboots since and the AX21 reconnects to the internet as expected.

Otherwise, all is well with this beta version.  I will update if there is an issue.

@Kevin_Z

I downloaded the ax2xv2 beta posted on 1/17, 2.1.2 Build 20210901 rel 75458(5553) and it is also working without problems so far.  I tested it with several scheduled reboots and the internet now reconnects properly after the reboot.

Except for the problem with the scheduled reboot internet reconnection problem, I had not experienced the constant internet drops that others have reported associated with the 1/7 update.  Instead, I had the scheduled reboot problem after the 1/7 firmware update.

I'll keep you informed of any future issues.  Hopefully, the beta solves all the problems.

@Kevin_Z   My router is the AX1800 v1.20, yet the listed hardware version is AX21 v1.20.  Not sure why there are two different hardware versions, but my initial attempt to upload the AX1800 firmware failed and had to use the AX21 firmware instead.  Hopefully this doesn't point to a larger underlying issue.

@CMears

Hello, you can take the model number printed on the router bottom sticker for reference, that will be the correct model number for your device.

@Kevin_Z

Greetings Kevin_Z.  I have model Archer AX20, Ver 1.26.  I was suffering WAN disconnects at the router, starting about once every two days then increasing to twice per day, beginning in early January 2022.  No problems in the 8 months leading up to that.  Did some troubleshooting, changed the DNS1 and DNS2 entries, checked with my ISP.  No modem issues and no ISP service issues, then I came upon this forum, which turned out to be golden.  I uploaded the beta firmware and am presently at 60 hours without a disconnect.

Question:  Since the issue was not with all the same models, I assume this was an ISP to TP-Link handshake issue of some sort via the Gateway?  I have Spectrum as my ISP.  Was Spectrum - TP-Link discovered to be one of the problems?

Anyway, I am glad to be back in a reliable mode.  I have no cellular signal in my home and I 100% rely on my Wi-Fi network so I can use Wi-Fi calling on my cell phone.  So, hoping to see reliable service going forward.  As a side note, the signal reach and speed related to my Archer AX20 is awesome, including the 5 GHz, even when setting the Transmit Power to Low.  Also, TP-Link provides the AP Isolation option in the interface, which I do not see with most other manufacutrers.  So, thank you TP-Link!

@Kevin_Z

My AC1750 Ver: 5.8 is also experiencing a dropping connection. But I do not see a reference to a relevant patch on this forum. Would you be able to assist?

@Kevin_Z This beta firmware seems to have worked for me. Prior to this, I was getting disconnects exactly at 30 minutes after rebooting the router. I would sometimes have to cycle the router multiple times before it would stop disconnecting at 30 minutes. It was driving me crazy. Frontier FIOS was telling me that everything looked good on their end, furthering my dissent into madness trying to figure this out. And then ... finally ... I found this post!

I need a few more days of testing before I truly know that the problem is finally resolved. But as of now, everything is stable and staying connected. I will do some intentional reboots tomorrow to stress test it.
