Is there a ream why my router won't connect to download the new update? It's pretty dusted when I have auto update setting turned on and now it won't even connect to download the new firmware.

May I know if you have bound the device to your cloud account？
If not, it is normal that router can not update firmware automatically because the new firmware is pushed to customer via cloud.
If you have bound router to your TP-Link clound account, please unbind the account and bind again.
Besides, please make sure the router is stably connected to the internet.
