Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.15.3 Build 180114 Rel.39265n

I've never updated my Archer C7 v2 router's firmware, which is noted as 3.15.3 Build 180114 Rel.39265n.

 

The latest download on the Archer site is designated Archer C7(US)_V2_180114, dated 2018-05-14.

 

Since these firmware names do not follow the same format (except for the 180114), I have no idea whether I should update my firmware.

 

Do I need this upgrade or not? How do I know which is newer?

Hello @networketing 

 

Your router firmware is already up-to-date, which is 3.15.3 Build 180114 Rel.39265n. Since the Archer C7 v2 has been released years ago, there is no newer firmware for it.

 

2018-05-14 is the firmware published date, which is newer than the actual build number.
