Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: v1.1.0

Hello,

I have a Motorola MB8600 cable modem whose ip address is 192.168.100.1. With the modem directly connected to my computer I can access the modem's admin page at this address. However, with the modem attached to my AX55 router I can't access the modem admin page. It times out. The router is at 192.168.0.1. The router seems to be able to communicate with the modem's ip address as the following ping results show:

PING 192.168.100.1 (192.168.100.1): 64 data bytes

Reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=64 ttl=64 seq=1 time=3.370 ms

Reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=64 ttl=64 seq=2 time=2.279 ms

Reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=64 ttl=64 seq=3 time=2.278 ms

Reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=64 ttl=64 seq=4 time=2.157 ms

--- Ping Statistic "192.168.100.1" ---

Packets: Sent=4, Received=4, Lost=0 (0.00% loss)

Round-trip min/avg/max = 2.157/2.521/3.370 ms

ping is stopped.

I'm not sure why the router is blocking access to the modem when I type the modem's ip address into a web browser. I didn't have issues accessing my old Netgear modem behind the router but the new Motorola modem is causing issues. The ip address of the Netgear modem was the same as the current Motorola modem. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

@bsteinagel

Hello Brad, I assume if changing the LAN IP address of the Archer AX55 to another subnet would help, you may try changing the default 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1, then save and reboot the router to determine if you can login to the modem page.

You can also check the suggestions provided by Motorola tech support in their support FAQs by searching for "MB8600 - NOT ABLE TO LOGIN TO MODEM ON THE NETWORK".

Sorry that I cannot post an external link here.
