A friend gave me two Deco S units that were already set up with a network name and password. I want to create a new network and a guest network. Problem is the app does not find the Deco units. Meanwhile I can use the existing network and password created by my friend. Can I create two unique networks and wipe out the existing network?

  @PKBob i take it he never removed them from his old network before powering them down for the last time?

Hi, welcome to the community.

Only one SSID is allowed to be set for each main network and guest network.

I think you could change the existing network SSID and password to a new unique one on the Deco APP.

 

As for the "Problem is the app does not find the Deco units", please make sure you have logged into the correct TP-Link ID that has been used by your friend to set up Deco.
