Archer AX55 V1 Firmware 1.2.2 Build 20230511 dropping internet daily
Received a notification of new firmware and updated to 1.2.2 Build 20230511 5 days ago. Since then we have had loss of internet at the router 4 times over 4 days. In my troubleshooting I noticed that when I tried to login to the router to check status, it presented the login, accepted pass but would never load the interface. Speeds are normal and ping to router is 1ms so seems the connection is good. The problem seems to be at the router itself.
Has anyone else had a similar issue with connections since upgrading to this firmware? It is the only change that has been made and never had this issue prior. I wanted to get some input prior to reverting the firmware.

Hey Kevin,
I tried your link you gave us all last week. I tried it before I left for out of town on Thursday. I set my router to reboot everyday so luckily it's been staying active. In some circumstances it causes some other devices to lose connectivity. Anyways I tried your down grade. It wouldn't let me apply it at all to the router. I did it as a back up didn't work. I did it as a restore. Didn't work. Said error operation after uploading the folder after downloading it to my computer. I'm not sure what else to do from this point.

@Kevin_Z - I've been having the same issues as the others on this thread, with the Internet dropping multiple times per day. Just this morning alone, it happened twice within the span of 15 minutes.
I am running the latest beta 1.2.2 Build 20230606 rel.71120(5553) -- screenshot attached below as proof.
I sent an email to TP-Link support last week; their replies after each time it happened again were to install the latest updated beta version. Which I did, but it didn't solve the problem for more than 24 hours.
I'm getting ready to email Tech Support to request assistance in downgrading to 1.2.0 in the hope that it is more stable, because these beta versions are not solving the problem. I can't keep limping along / rebooting multiple times per day with the beta version in the hopes that the next beta version will fix it.
I also won't be upgrading beyond 1.2.0 until this issue is resolved.
Fingers crossed that 1.2.0 works...
Thanks,
Tim

I'm wondering where 1.2.0 came from, it's not listed on the official website as a download ? How do I downgrade to 1.1.8 ?
Thanks
Andrew

The link for 1.2.0 is provided in this post: https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/609452?replyId=1213870
But when I tried to install it on top of the latest beta 1.2.2 Build 20230606 rel.71120(5553), the router's web interface wouldn't let me install 1.2.0 and it kicked me out of the session. I believe there are more steps involved in downgrading to an older version of FW; I have emailed tech support asking for assistance.

@rdesign oddly enough i could downgrade without issues, where i just uploaded the firmware's bin into the firmware update section of the router.

I am having the same problems, I have tried both beta's the 5/29 and 6/06 versions along with the 1.2.2 Build 20230511 rel.51682 original update.
I do not believe it is an internet problem.
I was connected to the web interface by Ethernet cable when the AX55 stop communicating with my PC. I have been checking every morning since testing the beta versions. This morning I was checking the status, when I clicked on the Devises icon (I had 30 devices at the time) nothing happed for about 30 seconds, then on the bottom of the screen "Operation Failed" showed up and about 10 seconds later I lost all connection to the router and internet also. I turned the AX55 off and back on again, it took about 4 minutes to reboot. While it was rebooting I connected via WiFi to my AP router which is connected the AX55 via Ethernet. I was able to connect but with no internet.
I took temperature readings during the reboot the top of the AX55 was 95°F the bottom vent was 110°F - ambient temp was 72°F.
The exact time of the failure was 6:35 AM after the reboot I checked the system log and there was nothing indicating any failure at all.
Again all lights were green and my modem was sending a constant internet signal while the router was frozen.
The freeze up happed two more times, one by toggling the TWT on then off and again via the Tether app checking the devices.
I have also downgraded to the V1 1.2.0 Build 20230314 rel.72183(5553) firmware
I may try the next beta or just wait for ver 1.3.0

@ASainz40 Did you try downgrading to the previous 1.2.0 version that I posted here? Please try to reboot the AX55 and try to downgrade the firmware once again.
If still fails, please let me know and we will have our engineer help with the downgrade.

I downgraded to 1.2.0 Build 20230314 rel.72183(5553) from 1.2.2 about 10 days ago and my router had no issues since that time.

You were right -- when I tried again after rebooting the router I was successfully able to downgrade to 1.2.0.
I don't know why it didn't work for me yesterday, but it worked today.
Thank you.
