Model: Deco S4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.51 Build 20220113 Rel. 42007

First post here.  I am pretty technical but I can't really find why this is happening.

I have been trying to find a job with either the city/county where I live (San Diego).  The jobs are posted on governmentjobs website

I have not had issues up until the past couple of days ago.  When I try to load it on any of the computers at my house (Chromebook, 2 windows laptops, iMac) it just spins.  I try it on my phone (using my home's wifi) and it loads.

I use Verizon 5G Home and all other sites work fine.  I tried through my phone's hotspot and I was able to load it.  I ran a tracert (one with my home ISP and one with my hotspot).  It does time out with my home ISP.  I'm very curious though why it would load without any problems on my phone using the home's wifi.

I tried to post the results from my tracert, but this is telling me I can't post website URLs

Is this really just an ISP issue?  or is it possibly something with my Deco S4 settings?  I did flush the DNS and set it to google's public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)

Any ideas?

  @Rafster

Hi, welcome to the community.

You could forward the tracert urls to support.forum@tp-link.com or leave me a message here if possible.

Have you tried to temporarily unplug the main Deco S4 and connect the laptop directly to Verizon 5G Home CPE to see whether the laptop could access the government website?

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi, I have not tried to plug directly to the Verizon Modem. I will try that and post results here. I will also send you the Tracert URLs. Thank you

Actually, It doesn't let me send you a message with the TRACERT info. It is more than 1000 characters. I'll send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com

 so, something strange happened.  I installed my VPN app on my chromebook (NordVPN) and connected to a server in California (where I live) and I was able to connect to the Governmentjobs website.  Would this mean that it's the router that's a problem or my ISP?

  @Rafster

Hi, Thank you very much for the update and I also got your emails.

The DNS traceroute logs on Windows over Deco WiFi and Hotspot also are quite strange. Via Deco Wi-Fi, each hop is forwarded to an IPV4 address while on the Hotspot, they are forwarded to IPV6 addresses. Have you checked whether the IPV6 is enabled on the Deco APP>More>Internet Connection>IPV4&IPV6? It is also suggested to check whether the Windows PC has been assigned any IPV6 address.

But I am sorry that I am not sure why the smartphone is able to access these sites. The possible reason I could think of is that the smartphone might use the backup mobile data links or a VPN connection.

As for the ISP influence, If the PC supports a cable connection, you could also disconnect the VPN service for a while, then connect the PC to the Verizon 5G CPE/modem to see whether the Windows PC could access the government sites.

Thanks a lot for your time and patience.

Wait for your reply and best regards.
