Model: Deco PX50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.3 Build 20230420 Rel. 77020

I recently upgraded my existing M5 network with a pair of PX50s. I expected enhanced performance and functionallity with later model decos but frustratingly found the opposite.

The deco app now has reduced functionaality vs my original setup and the performance of the app is very inferior to the extent that I am considering reverting to the M5 network only.

Can anybody the explain the reason?

My setup is with a Virgin Media Hub 5 in modem mode

Thanks

Jon

Hi, Nice to see you again.

I see you have posted a similar issue here:https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/621526.

Here are some details for your reference:

Some new features are added via firmware upgrades, such as IOT network, ECO mode, and device isolation. The current firmware of Deco PX50 hasn't added these features yet,  Deco APP mainly displays the advanced functions supported by the main Deco so you might lose some features after switching from Deco M5 to PX50 as the main Deco.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi, Thanks for the info. Is there any firmware upgrade on the horizon for the PX50 as this model seems to be lagging behind the other. I see for example the the X50 just received a firmware upgrade - isn't the PX50 the same device with PLC added? Thanks Jon

Hi, Thanks for the update.

As per the plan, similar features will gradually roll out on different models. However, the ETA is not clear for a specific model.

I think the chipset platform for Deco PX50 is different than Deco X50 though their wireless specifications are quite similar.

Thank you and best regards.
