What's the difference between AX11000 versions 1.X and the new 2.X?

Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am now seeing that there are versions 2.0 and 2.6 for AX11000 routers.

I assume that the "newer" revisions work better than than 1.X ones.    Is the chipset different?   Are there less famed WIFI disconnect issues with 2.X versus 1.X?

And does anyone one know what is the difference betrween 2.0 and 2.6?   So hard to get any info our of TPLink, so I am wondering if someone here has some color on this?

When you look at the DATASHEETS for 1.60 vs.2.6, they look completely identical.

  @Mystiky,

Most hardware version updates are relatively minor, with small changes 1.0v1.6 sometimes only referring to a manufacturing location. Larger updates are often reserved for updates that improve compatibility, change chips, or have minor design changes - many times simply due to the availability of the tech used in the model. When the changes only exist at an extremely technical level, we do not provide the list of changes to users as we do not generally provide the chipsets used throughout the routers design.

In this specific case, the performance is the same and only minor changes were made to the internals. I would always recommend looking to get the latest version if you are buying another router, however I suspect that you should not see a performance difference between the two major versions.

  @Riley_S There is one big glaring difference.  You seem to maybe have fixed ipv6 optimization on the V2 models whereas you have not sent any firmware update to the v1 to fix the ipv6 problems people have.  The main culprit is your hardcoded firewall parameters (with no setting to disable) blocking all incoming ipv6 requests to devices which basically renders ipv6 useless for certain things.

Has the ability to turn off the firewall for ipv6 on v2 ax11000's been added?   If not my next router is going to be one with full ipv6 compatibility that allows incoming ipv6 requests to devices on the network.  There are plenty of other companies that offer this, but you all still refuse to do so for a router that cost a lot of money and is supposed to be one of the highest end models you sell.  It's really ashame that this feature has been requested for over 4 years now by various people in your forums and no one has ever added into firmware for the AX11000 v1.
