Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: ?

I have followed all support steps exactly for setup via the app.

App presents "No Ethernet Cable Found" error even when it is present and tested.

Steps:

1) tested connection on two other devices - fully successful

2) tested 3 ethernet cables, including the one that came with device.

3) moved ethernet cable to different Deco ports
4) restarted devices multiple times with 2 minute off time when asked in app, and again later during debugging.

5) verified green, connected LEDs present on modem (but #1 proved that anyway.)

6) throughout process, phone was within 2 feet of Deco hardware

I use public DNS at Google, 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 on our other routers
We have Metronet fiber

Slow blue blinking light on deco indicates setup ready throughout the process.

Is this a problem with the app itself?

Hi, Have you also tried to set a different Deco XE75 as the main Deco to see whether the error showed up again?

It is also suggested to disconnect the internet cable between the modem and Deco at the beginning of the setup, then only start plugging the cable back when Deco APP reported "No Ethernet Cable".

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

  @David-TP

I have the exact same issue and there is NOTHING that addresses this.  3 different units, 3 cables, done every step and reset DOZENS of times.  Everything works with old WiFi router and laptop....  but NONE of these TP things seem to be able to find the internet.  Super sorry I bought this system.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

I noticed you also submitted an APP feedback. When I checked your TP-link ID, I saw there are 6*Deco M9 Plus units and one main unit is online already.

So I am a little confused about the issue here. If the main unit is online already, the Deco APP should be able to detect the Ethernet cable connection from the modem.

Do you set up the 6 units into 2 different Mesh systems? and in one of the Mesh systems, the main Deco couldn't detect the Ethernet connection from the ISP cable modem?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

This has been resolved by swapping units.  I did not solve the reason the first unit didn't work.

@David-TP   Yes, the different units solved it.  This leaves me thinking I have one defective unit, but I am now outside of the return window.

Hi, Thanks for the update.

You could try to claim for warranty from TP-Link directly.

By the way, I was wondering if the Ethernet is unable to detect the modem when this Deco XE75 is the main Deco, is it able to detect other wired connections, such as the laptop/TV/NAS when it works as the satellite Deco?

Best regards.
