My original mesh network had three Deco M9 Plus nodes v2.8 with firmware version 1.6.2 

I just added another node which is the same hardware version, but the firmware is older 1.2.12.

In the app the new node is shown as a client to main node, not as a satellite node so I wanted to update the firmware hoping that would correct the configuration. When I try to update the firmware using app, it tells me that my current version 1.2.12 is up to date ???

I downloaded Deco M9 Plus Update Assistant on Windows laptop and manually upgraded to v1.6.2 but the new node still shows the old version 1.2.12.

Why this new node cannot be upgraded to version 1.6.2?

Why is it showing as a client to main node node not as a satellite?
