Model: Archer AXE75
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.9 Build 20231115 rel.37295(4555)

While running this setup:

fc78c27a1fc74a3dabc4a549eb66d246

Where Router1 is connected to Router2 via LAN to LAN port, I try to initialize OneMesh network, but getting "Operation Failed" error.

This is the route to the error:

  • from web interface http://192.168.1.1 of Router 1
  • I enter Advanced settings
  • and select OneMesh option
  • where I see correctly, my Router 2 (that sits on http://192.168.1.2)
  • and by pressing OK button the "Operation Failed" error appears on bottom and nothing happens

b72a76b8c308473f923dff93ef9c8fc1

Alternatives:

  • I also tried to re-plug the cable into WAN port like Router_1_LAN >>> WAN_Router_2 but with this kind of setup none of the both routers detect the other one and I get only this dumb screen:

67bbe838cbce4f62ad2b1857b0415e04

Questions:

  • how can be this error resolved?
  • what kind of settings needs to be triggered to initialize OneMesh between two routers?
  • what did I miss to set up? (as non-IT person I have no idea what I'm doing)

If there is newer official firmware available on the cloud for the satellite router, you will see it on the main router web interface and could update the satellite firmware directly on the main router page.

Keep the connection as it is - LAN to WAN.

You're doing just fine, but Onemesh doesn't support building mesh between two routers - check Onemesh FAQ - Q10/A10.

If AXE75 receive a FW update with Easymesh support then you will be able to achieve what you want.

@terziyski it now received EasyMesh upgrade. devices were successfully connected MainRouterLAN > SatelliteRouterWAN (should it be LAN to LAN port?)

my last question is: how do I access Satellite router? I want to change IP of Satellite router and in future - update firmware on Satellite router. any guidelines on this subject?

By design you won't have access to the satelitte device WebGUI.

If you need to update its FW refer this post.

@terziyski  I see, so in order to update we need to factory reset whole device to exit Satellite mode ? also, LAN to LAN or LAN to WAN or does not matter?
