Model: Deco BE95
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.18 Build 20240410 Rel. 46175

I added a Deco XE95 to my system of 2 XE75's recently and have had problems making it the Main Deco unit. My thinking is to have the BE95 as the Main and the 2 XE75's as satellite units. When trying to replace the current Main XE75 with it, I get no internet connection to it, and therefore none to the XE75s. I reset it back with the same XE75 as the main and simply added the BE95 as another satellite and all works well, but this is not how I wanted the arrangement for maximum throughput and efficiency. I tried a second time after all 3 units were running properly by selecting the BE95 and selecting the option Set as Main Deco. Again, no network connection. I have tried it with the modem output running to the XE75 designated as Main and an ethernet connection from it to the BE95 as well as having the moded connected directly to the BE95. No difference. Any suggestions on how to get the BE95 to run as the Main Deco unit?

Hi, May I know who is your internet service provider? Can I have the model of cable/fiber modem?

After switching Deco BE95 as the main Deco, would its LED turn solid red?

--- If you checked the IPV4 settings at that moment, was the IPV4 address empty, like 0.0.0.0?

I think you could try the following suggestions to see whether they helped:

1. restart the ISP modem once after switching the main Deco.

2. After the model is fully recovered, if the LED on the BE95 was still red, please refer to this link to manually clond the MAC address of the previous main Deco XE75 to BE95:

How to Configure MAC Clone on Deco if Deco fails to connect to the internet

Wait for your reply and best regards.

Thanks, @David-TP. Worked like a charm - I should have thought to reset the modem after reassigning the main Deco unit. I didn't have to do a MAC clone. All units up and running well.
