Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version:

I just purchased a TP-Link USB 3.0 Port Hub and Ethernet adapter (UE330) it works with my XE75, but I want to assign it a specific IP reservation of x.x.x 75.

My Deco app reports it as Unknown device, which know I should be able to change, but its not using the IP address I want.

I know that address is available since I removed the previous Hub that was using it.

My media player GUI and NAS are all set up for the previously used IP address and its a pain to go through and change it all.

How do I assign it the specific address I want it to use?

So far I can only change the used IP by rebooting the media device and hoping it gets a different IP.

There must be a better way!

Thanks

  @BritG1

If the device is connected to the Deco:

in the Deco app:

- more, advanced, address reservation

- tap on "+" in the right upper corner

- tap on "select from client"

- tap on the client,

- tap on "save"

- the client is now present in the list of reserved addresses, with its current IP address

- tap again on the client,

- modify the IP address to x.x.x 75

- tap save

- the client is now present in the list of reserved addresses, with x.x.x 75 as IP address

- reboot the device

If the device is not connected to the Deco:

in the Deco app:

- more, advanced, address reservation

- tap on "+" in the right upper corner

- tap on "custom"

- type the MAC address of the client, and x.x.x 75 as IP address

- tap "save"

- connect the device

  @yves_b

I have to say a special thank you for your support and help.

Everything you have provided to me has been understandable and WORKED.

I don't know why TP-Link Deco made it so different from other manufacturers to define Fixed or Reserved IP addresses, but your solutions have let me overcome those limitations.

Conversely these are the kind of instructions that should be included in a user manual, along with suggested default settings and more detailed explanations of what the different setting do.  I end upm "googling" for information, but many times its not relevent to Deco.

It seems that quality user manuals are a dying trend.

It also strange to me that a router system offers more settings in an App than in the PC GUI (I'm used to it being different, but its a trend I don't like).

Enough of that - thank you again.
