Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.3 Build 20231227 Rel. 62665

I am currently using three Deco X60 (v2) devices and I would like to enforce the use of OpenDNS servers for content blocking. I could do this with my old router and DD-WRT's "Force DNS redirection" setting. Is there a similar way to do this with Deco or another TP-Link device added to my network?

No, that's not what I'm looking for. Plenty of routers allow you to set DNS servers but clients can override with their own DNS settings.

Thx. I'd be OK with adding another device to network but I'd rather it be TP-Link and works best with the existing mesh networking of the Deco devices. Perhaps another TP-Link router provides this feature, and I can use the Decos as access points.

That method does not really block content, and becomes more and more useless.

Devices can use IP addresses, or resolve names by other methods than DNS.

This method does not control the usage of DNS over HTTPS, which is supported by many browsers and many OS.

Thanks, Yves. It's been some years since I've reviewed this subject. DNS over HTTPS, in particular, can make OpenDNS useless with clever teenagers.

Can the TP-Link parental controls and categories block sites even when addressed via DoH or client-cofigured DNS?
