  @NeverA

The fact your on a existing modem    modem/router tells me exactly what the problem is and is so easy to solve but......

you clearly labelling a product as junk with no research and no idea how something works so you resort to label it as junk when you plug it in and set it up and it doesn't work.

I used to be on a cable network and had my primary router from the ISP in modem mode and had no problems with the deco range...flawless in my situation.

i have now moved to full fibre so connected the main unit straight to the isp point in the wall (ONT if i remember right) as its fibre now so its not docsis now from the isp...other 2 units are fine and all run in a mesh across my house giving consistent speeds al round...my kids PS5 even plays nice on 2.4GHZ lol....and the other 32 WIFI items in the house work fine(even the IOT network stuff).

So to cap     there's nothing wrong with the equipment lol and its omnidirectional WIFI penetrates brick walls well in my house but i have a basic understanding like most about channels etc and neighbour channel overlaps..noise..etc. So as i said in the beginning your problem is so easy to solve...but as a person and the way you mislead others in something you clearly aren't fully clued up on, there's no way I'm giving you the easy solution simply because of the type of person you appear to be :)...Maybe read through all you wrote and see how pointless it really is....

only basic info on current setup

no existing info modem or modem/router model

no info on where you put the units

no info what mode your running in

what ping times??? internal or external??? device to device....or ping externally to google etc

my devices don't sleep???

i have had ASUS routers and tp-link in the past costing well over $500 but nothing is ever rock solid on WIFI and as you know WIFI isn't just about 2.4 5 and 6 ghz etc ...that doesn't even come close to how deep WIFI broadcasting is and the things it has to do.

there are so many external influences to take into account as i said earlier.....WIFI channel overlap  ZigBee devices     interference from other devices in the same range      metal etc etc   i could go on lol...

oh my iot devices with web access can be reached no problem including my CCTV

clearly your setup is wrong and the solution is just to set the.......oh yes i forgot ...because you came across as a person who see something as junk and seem rude about something you have a basic knowledge of then i wont help...

but i do hope someone on here looks past your posts and helps you :)

Oh and if you decide to respond to this in a  manner that seems a little rude then please do if it makes you fell better as i wont respond/bite lol

i read once that a tesla said in the sales blurb that it would give me 250 miles on one charge but i only got 240 out of it.....must be junk??? lol

damn i nearly bit my tongue and decided to help as i was writing this last sentence....but i thought no...you need to work this out on your own

Have a great day/night

P.S if you do know plenty about this stuff then get a router and flash DD-WRT on it and config it yourself just how you want it :)

  @Nacster

And there it is....the forum troll that was expected!!!

You said a lot, yet NOTHING at all! I don't expect any solutions from you, but man can you make A LOT of assumptions about my setup, yet you know NOTHING about my setup.

What a clown to act like you are some network prodigy, yet I felt like I was reading a post from a 2nd grade student!

  @NeverAgain As a former DD-WRT user, don’t believe their opinion is shared by the rest of us. Customer service and support should be a premium with every product.
So I’m sorry your problem isn’t being addressed properly by TP-LINK themselves. But I feel we’re currently in a time where thanks to models like Tesla, companies are looking for every penny they can save and squeeze out of us. Without even thinking of the consequences to their reputation with longtime loyal customers.

The 3 pack that TP-Link sells is supposed to cover 7500 sq ft. Maybe you have too many set up, or one very big house?

  @WYLDSTALLYNS Totally agree with your sentiments.

  @jzchen That is a fair point. My home is approximately 6800 sq ft and even when I cut it back to 3 Decos, I experience the same degradation in my network. I will say however, it seems as if the instability of the network got much worse after that last firmware update (1.2.11 Build 20240724 Rel. 38913).
