Hi everyone,

A bit of a noob here. I live in a bit of a larger home that happens to be pre-wired. I have an xe75 as the main unit in the basement where all my wiring is and 4 additional xe75s through the house all wired backhaul.  My brother is taking all but 1 xe75 from me for his house so I purchased 4 xe200s at a great deal on Amazon to replace.

My question is, can I keep the xe75 as the main in the basement and use the xe200s throughout the house without any performance issue? I wasn't sure if this setup would create a performance issue because the xe75 is inferior to the xe200, but maybe that doesn't matter because of the wired setup.

I have 1 gb connection with Verizon.

Thanks so much everyone.

  @JCSTU

I do not expect you will encounter performance issues.

I suggest locating the xe75 where you do require superior wifi performance.

It is quite easy to swap a main and a satellite Deco.

EDIT:

I meant "I suggest locating the xe75 where you do NOT require superior wifi performance."

Hi thanks but 1 question regarding your suggestion. The xe200 should have significantly better wifi performance right? But you were suggesting putting the xe75 where I needed better performance. Can you help to explain for me? I was intending to keep the xe75 in the basement as the main unit

  @JCSTU Sorry, my mistake, I meant "I suggest locating the xe75 where you do NOT require superior wifi performance."

Hi, just an update here.  So I set up the xe200 and my wifi speeds dropped significantly, almost to 1/3 of what i was getting on the xe75's.  I ensured I was connected to the xe200 and used speedtest.  Not sure exactly why this would be happening.  Again, I'm using an xe75 in the basement as the main unit and all my units are ethernet backhaul.  Any ideas?
