New Wi-Fi 7 Deco Feature – Channel Selection
We are excited to introduce the Channel Selection feature for Wi-Fi 7 Deco Mesh Systems. This new functionality, accessible through the Deco app, allows users to manually choose the Wi-Fi channel for each frequency band, providing greater control over network performance in high-interference environments.
Note: This feature is available via firmware update on the Deco Models listed below. We will do our best to update this post as additional models adopt the feature; however, we always recommend checking your Deco's firmware release notes page for the latest information.
Currently Supported Models:
Deco BE11000 (V2.6)
Deco BE65 Pro (V1 & V1.6)
Deco BE85 (V2 & V2.6)
Deco BE63 (V2.6)
Deco BE95 (V1 & V1.6)
Channel Selection Function Overview
Channel Selection lets Deco users select the optimal Wi-Fi channel on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. This feature can benefit areas with multiple overlapping networks or interference from other electronic devices. By manually setting the channel, users may experience improved network stability and enhanced Wi-Fi performance.
To Use the Channel Selection Feature:
1. Open the Deco App
2. Go to Wi-Fi Settings
3. Select 2.4GHz & 5GHz Wireless Network
4. In the Advanced section, adjust the channel and channel width settings.
Benefits of Manual Channel Selection
Reduced Interference
Selecting a specific Wi-Fi channel can help avoid overlap with neighboring networks, particularly in densely populated areas.
Optimized Performance
By adjusting the channel and channel width, users can find the best configuration to support stable and fast connections.
Enhanced Control
Manual Channel Selection offers advanced users greater flexibility to fine-tune their Deco network for improved reliability.
With the addition of the channel selection function, Deco users with supported models can now take greater control of their wireless environment, potentially enhancing their Wi-Fi experience by reducing interference and optimizing connectivity.
Try out the Channel Selection feature and see how small adjustments can make a big difference in your network’s reliability and speed.

I've tried about every combination possible. I've marked the devices that drop often, to not use mesh or only use 2.4Ghz, put them on the Guest, put them on 5Ghz only, changed to 20 Mhz, etc... Nothing seems to work. It's not only 2.5Ghz devices either. For example, my Fire Cube is set to not use mesh, only connect to 6Ghz (or I tried 5Ghz) and it still will drop on and off the network multiple times a week, and I'll get the push notifications about it doing so. That said, I've never had it crap out in the middle of a movie but I guess if the drop is only a few seconds at most, caching could be helping it in that regard. I haven't marked all devices to give notification because it gets really annoying on my phone so I selectively pick a few every couple of weeks to see and it does appear that's basically all my devices still, just less often. It is much better since I've manually set a channel. It use to be literally all day long for the majority of my devices. My aquarium controller is on it's own Netgear hotspot plugged directly into the deco main router and it still will drop/join. The supplier of the aquarium controller suggests to everyone having issues to get a separate Wifi repeater/AP. For a while I tried putting the controller directly on the Deco and no mesh and 2.4Ghz only and that didn't solve the issue either. The controller will sometimes lose its connection to the other aquarium devices that are attached to it via wifi, like my Wi-Fi power strip. Those reconnect after a few seconds as well so I've not had an issue, but I'd never put anything important to the aquarium on those wifi power strips because of it (like heaters).

@Ryan we need channel selection at deco x50v1.30.
Hi, how are you, I am Sayem Ahmed, a young Deco X50.130 user from Bangladesh, I am reporting something that you should bring an update that will help our users in our country to use it in a very pleasant way, as our country is very densely populated which creates a lot of obstacles or annoys us in using the internet due to the channel issue alone, so I want to give you a suggestion that is to bring an update to Deco X50v1.30 which will facilitate us in channel selection or we can do manual channel selection. I hope you will think about the above-written issues and work through the review which is another scenario of providing you with better quality services, I hope to update as soon as possible, other than TP Link, many other new companies have already provided manual channel selection in their Deco Series routers like Cudy, Asus, which has become a shameful scenario for you.
